#74 Introduction to the 4 Pillars of Real Wealth Ranching | Los 4 Pilares de Real Wealth Ranching

Uncategorized Jun 13, 2023

(Versión en Español a continuación)

Hello, I am Jim Elizondo from Real Wealth Ranching where our goal is to help you achieve maximum productivity while improving your land the fastest.

We need to realize that there is more than one way of doing or implementing to get the results we desire or need.

When we are managing living systems or environments along with the symbiosis between our livestock, the grassland, the soil life, and our economic needs, we should always remember this and not become dogmatic.

Following dogma will create the opposite of what we want or need.

We need to be creative and use our interpretation of what we observe in nature to help nature achieve the highest productivity, resiliency, and complexity which is what nature is always striving for.

In Real Wealth Ranching, we are very careful to not contradict nature as that would be very expensive and against our goals of creating a better environment with the help of livestock managed and bred correctly.

#73 Results on Robbins Ranch after 3 years of implementing the Total Grazing Program with Adapted Genetics and Selection Guidelines

Uncategorized Jun 06, 2023

(Versión en Español a continuación)

Hello, I am Jim Elizondo from Real Wealth Ranching where our goal is to help you achieve maximum productivity while improving your land the fastest. Today, I want to share with you the achievements of a student who started applying these online programs 3 years ago.

You may be wondering: how is it that such huge improvements can be achieved with an online course? Or maybe it's hard to believe that we can achieve such great results at a low-cost without chemical fertilizers. This is why I'm going to share with you the results of the Robbins' ranch in Mena, Arkansas. You can also see it with pictures on my Facebook page under Real Wealth Ranching.

Matt and Mark Robbins have applied very well, and with common sense, the teachings of the online courses: the Total Grazing Program and the Adapted Genetics and Selection Guidelines. Last week, when we started the face-to-face course at their farm as the place where we do the practical part, we were abl...

#72 What is Nutritional Adaptation Determined by Genetics | Que es la adaptación nutricional por Genética

Uncategorized May 30, 2023

Hello, I am Jim Elizondo from Real Wealth Ranching where our goal is to help you achieve maximum productivity while improving your land the fastest.

Last week I talked about Epigenetics on my podcast, did you get a chance to hear it?

It is a very interesting topic because it explains how the expression of a gene is turned on or off by marks in the genes due to the environment.

It is what explains how a cell can develop an eye, hair, hands, or heart. This is so because all the cells of an animal contain the necessary information, and genes, to do so. But, did you know that the environment in which the animal is found will determine which genes will be expressed and which ones will not?

Furthermore, we now know that these changes in gene expression are inherited for up to three generations.
Interesting, right?

Well, we also know that the epigenome, which "epi" means above, is affected or shaped by the environment and is what is inherited, to a ...

#71 What is Epigentics | Que es La Epigenética

Uncategorized May 23, 2023

(Versión en Español a continuación).

Hello, I am Jim Elizondo from Real Wealth Ranching where our goal is to help you achieve maximum productivity while improving your land the fastest.

Epigenetics, buzzword? Or a reality that we can use to our advantage?

Surely you have heard this word and how what happened to our parents or grandparents has an impact on our lives and behavior. It turns out that it is true and that the memory of events or the environment is in each of our cells.

That is why when an organ is transplanted to someone, they begin to have cravings and behaviors that are different from those they had before and resemble those of the organ donor.

It is a very interesting subject and also, in animal genetics, there are people who are trying to predict the genetic potential of an animal from a young age.

I am not going to talk about that, because I consider that it is still in its infancy and the results or predictions are not very reliable.

It turns out that there ...

#70 So you want to be a minimum cost producer? | Entonces, quieres ser un productor de mínimo costo?

Uncategorized May 16, 2023

(Versión en Español a continuación).

Hello, I am Jim Elizondo from Real Wealth Ranching where our goal is to help you achieve maximum productivity while improving your land the fastest.

Do you want to be a minimum-cost producer? If that is your goal, there are many things you need to consider.
First is that most beef or mutton producers have been led to higher and higher production per individual animal and this increases inputs and costs dramatically.
Peer pressure is real and what most producers talk about is individual animal performance and not profits per acre or per ranch per year.
Does this sound familiar?

Whenever cattlemen gather at the local coffee shop they will discuss the weather, politics, local economy, and weaning or slaughter weights.

None of these subjects leads to maximum profits and certainly not to a minimum cost of production.

Now, we do not want to shoot ourselves in the foot by scrimping money on necessary things, but, many times people consider important ...

#69 Why Regenerating is my Passion | Porque el Regenerar la Tierra es mi Pasión

Uncategorized May 09, 2023

(Versión en Español a continuación).

Hello, I am Jim Elizondo from Real Wealth Ranching where our goal is to help you achieve maximum productivity while improving your land the fastest.

If we have lived for long enough around ranches/farms, and are observant of what is happening around us AND have listened to old cattlemen or ranchers, we can relate to what I am going to tell you.

First, let us picture how the land must have looked like and produced when the first white men came to America. We can find historical records of the abundance of game and the rich deep soils that they encountered. We can also read how the wildlife became depleted and how the soils and grasslands have degraded since then.

Why has this happened? Researchers have blundered in trying to find the reason that explains it. Grazing gurus have made huge mistakes by not considering how the land functioned before modern men and why the land degraded. I mean, they know some parts of the puzzle, but they miss, by ...

#68 Advantages of Creating a Soil Sponge | Ventajas de Crear un Suelo Esponjoso

Uncategorized Apr 25, 2023

(Versión en Español a continuación).

Hello, I am Jim Elizondo from Real Wealth Ranching where our goal is to help you achieve maximum productivity while improving your land the fastest.

A sponge will hold water and be absorbent, right?

We want our soil to absorb a lot of water and hold it and allow plant growth for a much longer time.

Creating a soil sponge is crucial for microorganisms that allow our forages to produce more, both in quantity and in quality. Besides microorganisms, we know that the gas interchange in our soil with the air above it needs to be enhanced and it is another reason we want a soft or spongy soil. When we can walk on spongy soil after walking on compacted soil, if we are good at observation, we will feel it in our feet and will see the huge difference it makes in grass production, biodiversity and soil health.

What happens when we create a spongy soil?

Everything starts to work as nature intended! The natural processes develop unhampered and highly pr...

Hello, I am Jim Elizondo from Real Wealth Ranching where our goal is to help you achieve maximum productivity while improving your land the fastest.

Did I tell you I love complex subjects? I really enjoy building new businesses and projects and regenerating ranches or farms with livestock which requires complex and in-depth knowledge for it to work properly.

Today I will speak of the importance of explaining complex subjects in a digestible way. Please share this podcast with any person you think may enjoy and benefit from it.

I have made podcasts about how to make long-term decisions, how to decide on which livestock species fit our enterprise better, taking into account the whole which includes man, society, profits, land and grass improvement, in-depth goals, family time, etcetera.

To be able to give such advice, it is essential that one has the experience and success record in these matters to show and to give confidence to oneself and ...
