There are many companies out there offering protein supplements with 100% or even 130% protein content.

What does that mean? We know that it would be difficult to get to 100% protein as there are other ingredients to account for.

Non-Protein Nitrogen is just that, nitrogen without it being assembled into amino acids. A string of amino acids together forms a real protein and it’s a reason why Non-Protein Nitrogen is also called Funny protein as it is not a real protein but a protein equivalent that requires energy to form an amino acid and then a real protein. Urea contains around 46% nitrogen and requires sulfur for the rumen microorganisms to convert it into amino acids, that is why we need to add ammonium sulphate.

We all have heard the term overgrazing, while we know that it means that the grass has been re-grazed before it fully recovered many people confuse it with taking the grass too low.

There are many reasons for this misconception, one is that there was an experiment done in the fifties by Crider where he proved that cutting the grass too frequently without appropriate rest periods resulted in weak and thin roots with much lower productivity.
