Hello, I am Jim Elizondo, and today I will talk about how the Total Grazing Academy fits different environments around the world.
First, the Total Grazing Academy is a unique way to learn the 4 pillars. You will create more real wealth for you and your family. It will maximize profits while you improve your land in a way that uses resources effectively.
The Total Grazing Academy has 4 online courses. Each course has unique modules. They will help you understand each course at your own pace.
They are:
Which one should I start with?
The Total Grazing Program will boost your grass productivity by 3 to 5 times. It will also raise your soil's long-lived organic carbon 3 to 5 times.
But, I advise starting the other 3 online courses at the same time. For example, the optimal calving season can increase your stocking rate vs. yea...

聽Hey, how are you today? I hope you are enjoying this life we have and making the most of your day!
Welcome to the Fat Wallet Podcast. I am your host, Jim Elizondo of Real Wealth Ranching. Our goal is to help you make more money while you regenerate your land the fastest.
We do this by teaching how to easily implement the Total Grazing Program. I have many years of experience with it on my farm.
My work as a dairy nutritionist and an accountant helps me. It helps me make better decisions about making more money when grazing with livestock.
I want to be clear. I do not claim title to these natural processes. They have been happening for thousands of years in nature. I try to better explain what has worked for me and my students. We are in many different countries and environments.
Would knowing how the rumen works when grazing help us profit more from grazing livestock? You bet! Healthy livestock perform better. This improves conversion effic...

聽Hello, I am Jim Elizondo, creator of the name Total Grazing Program.
Definitions and descriptions should be clear and understandable. That's why I call this way of managing our grazing, a program. It aims for the largest profits and the fastest improvement of your land. I call it the Total Grazing Program.
If you have listened to my previous podcasts, you know I like to be clear in my words and definitions.
Many people say they did Total Grazing, maybe 10 years ago. In a drought, their cattle took everything from the paddocks after they opened the gates to all the pastures in despair.
That is NOT the Total Grazing Program. It's overgrazing. That's when they allow grazing on not well-recovered grass.
The Total Grazing Program limits overgrazing. So, it is not correct to call his overgrazing in a drought "Total Grazing."
Then, other grazing gurus talk about soil armor. They say the Total Grazing Program will leave no litter to protect the so...

聽Have you wondered why there are so many names for grazing systems? Are they all the same? Or are there crucial differences between them?
I have counted the different names they gave to the same type of grazing program.
There are only two styles of grazing: selective and nonselective. There are no more grazing styles.
Most grazing programs or systems practice selective grazing most of the time. So, they are essentially the same in practice, despite their many names.
However, few grazing systems use nonselective or high-efficiency grazing. Why? I think it is due to everyone trying to sell their methods. Most people are comfortable with selective grazing, so they go with the flow. But, selective grazing is the main cause of overgrazing. Overgrazing is grazing a grass plant or forage too soon. It occurs before the plant has fully recharged its energy. Overgrazing weakens plants and shortens their roots. This makes forage plants vulnerable to freez...

Hello, I am Jim Elizondo from Real Wealth Ranching. I have enjoyed teaching classes for a long time now. They focus on boosting profits and enhancing land value simultaneously.
We call it the Total Grazing Academy. We manage four programs: the Total Grazing Program, Adapted Genetics and Selection Guidelines, the Optimal Calving Season, and Nutrition When Grazing.
These courses aim to maximize your stocking rate. It is the main factor in your profits, not weaning weights, daily gains, or anything else.
Your profits will depend on how many productive animals you can maintain at a low cost per year.
Now, we need to realize that having a minimum infrastructure in place makes life easier. And, depending on how good your design is, your results will be.
In designing a minimal, electric, and permanent flexible fence, we must consider maintenance, future needs, changing grass growth, herd size, ease of moving them, and our livestock's energy when grazi...
Hello, I am Jim Elizondo from Real Wealth Ranching. I have been teaching classes for a long time now. They focus on boosting profits while also enhancing your land fertility.
We know that we should not graze young grasses. It would shorten and weaken their roots. That would be overgrazing, and we must minimize it. We want to produce 3-5 times more grass than with continuous or early spring grazing of young grass.
I have been in Vermont and Alberta, Canada this month (September 2024). It is clear that the Total Grazing Program, with its slogan "Fat cows, Fat cows, Fat cows," is the best grazing system.
Why? Because we aim for our livestock's health as our priority. Healthy livestock perform better. Better performance means they will convert each ton of grass into more pounds of sales. We want more production per ton of grass.
But, here it gets interesting. We need to consider our livestock needs. But, we must also consider our grass needs. Our grass will grow soil when pruned at ...

Your profits will depend on how many productive animals you can maintain at a low cost per year.
These are simple math. The more productive livestock you keep at a low cost, the more you will reduce your annual costs per animal.
Wouldn't you want to have twice or thrice the productive livestock at a lower cost per animal than ever before?
People are usually put off by this larger number of livestock. They think they will need to spend more on hay in the lean seasons to feed them...
